In the youth workshop, high school-aged conference attendees will explore a range of genres, including poetry, fiction, and personal narrative. This year, we will offer a limited number of competitive full scholarships (covering tuition, housing, and food). Enrollment in all workshops is limited and admissions are rolling.
Course credit is available to any enrolled college student (two credit hours of college credit from St. Mary's College of Maryland).
For the youth workshop, we ask that you submit a brief writing sample; it doesn't matter which genre the sample is in. In fact, feel free to include passages from more than one genre. For submissions, upload 3-4 poems (in one document please) and/or no more than 15 pages (double spaced) of prose (whether a short story, novel excerpt, or essay); again, please upload just one file for the entire writing sample.
Please do not include your name anywhere on your writing sample itself.
